How is Gear Score Calculated in WotLK?
Gear Score (GS) is an indicator of how powerful your character is in the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) expansion. Step 1: Determine Your Overall Item Level

Once you have calculated your Gear Score, you can compare it with that of other players and bosses. This will give you an idea of how powerful your character is in relation to others in the game.
